WELCOME TO A GOOD STITCH

ABOUT ME

Hi, there! My name is Cameron, and I’m the founder of A Good Stitch. Along with being my favorite way to make art and pass time, knitting is a deeply personal craft to me.

I started knitting as a therapeutic technique for coping with trichotillomania, or hair-pulling disorder, which began to dominate my life a few years back. I began knitting hats so that I would always have something to cover my head with when my trich was particularly bad. Pretty soon I had more hats than I could ever need, so I started sharing them and the story that makes them so personal to me. In each piece, destructive energy was turned into a good stitch.

Every piece here has been handmade by myself or my beautiful, talented mother who was the one who taught me to knit in the beginning and who has supported me through it all.

This itty bitty business was made possible by the love and support of the people around me and the generosity of you, the customer. Thank you for stopping by A Good Stitch!

Knitting has given me so much of my life back, so 10% of the profits are donated to the TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors, an organization dedicated to providing support and resources to people who suffer from body-focused repetitive behaviors like trich.

ABOUT TLC

The TLC Foundation is an incredible organization that provides community and educational tools to those with body-focused repetitive behaviors, or “bfrb”s. TLC is a wonderful resource for anyone with a bfrb or for anyone wanting to learn more about how to support someone with a bfrb.

Donations to TLC ensure that they can continue to be a safe and educational place for the bfrb community. By supporting A Good Stitch, you support an organization that has helped me and countless others feel less alone.
